Makes tagging really easy. I like the ability to choose the interval between location logging.

I think the core functionality is pretty darn solid and useful. I haven’t gotten the offline mode and Lightroom workflow working yet. Will update when I do.

7/9/15 I have been using app for a week now and it is a simple way to replace the GPS Sony no longer puts into its camera. If course it is no more accurate than the iPhone GPS accuracy but for my purposes that is good enough. No problem with excessive battery drain.

The app worked great on my iPhone 5s until the update for the apple watch. Since the update, the app seems to try to launch, but is not accessible. This is very bad timing, as I plan on leaving for an overseas trip shortly. Please fix.

Suddenly I have geotagging available with my DSLR photos. Im applying the data via Lightroom, but they also have a free desktop app which will handle this step.

Seems to work better when there is a network connection. Pre-trip testing in the U.S. worked ok. But the track log failed to record my hikes in the Galápagos Islands. I ended up tagging photos manually in Lightrooms Map module without the gpx file.

I struggled to get the Canon camera apps to work reliably. Install, tweak, uninstall, search the Internet for help. No luck. Then I stumbled across Geotag Photos Pro. Installed it on my iPhone and drove around to several locations. Occasionally used the update button to make sure that the location was logged. Then loaded the pics on my Mac. First, not much battery drain on the iPhone. Then the Geotag process on my Mac took a few seconds for 32 pictures. Fast! The map locations were accurate. What an excellent app! Plus, you dont need a new camera. Any camera that records time data should work fine. I used my new Canon G16, but I plan to use it with my old PowerShot A640. Very, very happy with Geotag Photos Pro. If I could give 6 stars I would.

I have used this application to keep a record of the location of thousands of images that I have taken throughout my travels. If you are at all interested in geotagging your images, this is the app to use. For me, this is probably the only reason I would get an apple watch. Great app!

App doesnt stay running very long in the background anymore. Used to be great. Now I turn it on and look a few hours later and it only took a few data points. After I open it, it restarts the tracking but puts it in a new group as if I stopped and resumed it. I suspect the malfunction is caused by the Notification Center widget I enabled for this trip. After disabling it, the app is still running at least after 5 minutes. Nobody use their Notification Center widget as it appears to break the background tracking.

Useful app, well planned options for how you want it to record GPS coordinates. If you have an iPhone its easy to geo tag photos The today extension is nice, but it can only stop recording, or launch the app. If Im taking photos and drive from one place to another, Id like the today extension to be able to pause and resume an existing trip.

What good is any GPS app if I can’t find the distance travelled? Is that too much to ask?

They still have to update for the we resolutions. Its ridiculous after 1 year.

The phone app itself works flawlessly. Two issues I have with the workflow are: I have yet to figure out how to utilize the file that the app allows one to send by way of email. This seems like a fake feature. The application for the computer is pretty featureless. That said, this is one of the best solutions for geotagging DSLR photos.

Solid app that works extremely well. Does what it says it does. I have it setup to log every few minutes and upload to Dropbox. I then use Lightroom to load the GPS file and geotag my images. Nice on battery and on my 5s will log for most of the day

Geotagphotos is simple and does the job: just start it at the beginning of your vacations, upon return use the desktop app and your pics are ready to upload in photos or Lightroom.

Use it all the time while traveling.

I purchased the app. As soon as I opened it, I received a notification to purchase the new and improved Geotag Photos Pro 2. Why the hell are you still selling the original app?! Nice job tricking people into wasting money.
